Dunvegan Annual Beaver Gathering: Conversations with Beaver Elders & Archaeologists
Organized in cooperation with the Tsattine Resurgence Society, this annual event offers an opportunity for gathering and connecting. This event is open to the public and whether you have Indigenous or European settler heritage (or both), ALL are welcome to attend to listen, learn and share.
Elders will share stories and local archaeologists and researchers will be available to share information about our landscape and its history.
Activities/presentations will include:
Visit with Elders around the campfire
General information about archaeology and what it is
Lithics and faunal remains from the NWP teaching collection
Colouring, stickers, and activity sheets for kids
Jade and obsidian samples
Research on bison in the Peace Country
Bring your stones and bones for an opportunity to have them identified
Guided tours of Historic Dunvegan's historic buildings (an admission fee applies for this activity)
