Fresh Air Market

Experience the time-honoured tradition of trading and gathering at Historic Dunvegan's annual Fresh Air Market. Get to know local artisans and the products they passionately create. Find the perfect gift or take home a special treat for yourself. Costumed interpreters will be offering tours of Historic Dunvegan's four fully restored historic buildings and activities for the whole family. 

Visiting Tips

  • BRING CASH. Vendors accept cash only and there are no cash machines onsite.

  • The market runs rain or shine.

  • If you are able to walk, please consider parking in the gravel lot to the west of the site entrance. The paved lot to the east of the Visitor Centre is reserved for those with limited mobility (those with walking aids, parents with strollers, etc.).

  • There is no charge to shop at the market.  

  • If you are a local artisan or food vendor and are interested in participating in the market, email historic.dunvegan@gov.ab.ca.

Activities

  • Shop the market from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

  • Guided tours of four fully furnished historic buildings are available at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. Admission fees apply and can be paid by cash, debit, or credit. 

  • Pay your admission fee for a tour to be entered for a chance to win a fabulous door prize that includes a $20 gift certificate to the Historic Dunvegan Visitor Centre gift shop as well as an assortment of items generously donated by market vendors.

  • Craft table available in the Visitor Centre.

  • Kid's Zone will be set up outside.

  • Play Capture the Furs with your family and friends at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Participation is free, but donations are welcomed!
